From the Desk of the Chief – November 2013

The Upper Makefield Fire Company responded to 13 Emergency Responses with an average of 10 firefighters per call responding.  The company was in-service for 55 man hours on emergencies.  The Fire Company also held one training night in November on air pack recertification.  The 1^st of 3 manditory recertification on our airpacks held annually.  Members are required to make 1 of the 3 nights. This accounted for another 30 manhours this month.  Interesting calls this month included a Loader Fire at the Thorpe Farm and an over turned Tri Axle Dump Truck at Rt. 532 & Balderston Dr.  The Fire company was also out this month to Thank the Washington Crossing Inn for all their help & support with our annual Italian Night/Auction Fund Raiser Event.  Last but not least a crew was out to bring Santa to help the Kiwanis Club Light the Tree at RT 532 & Rt32 on November 29th.
