In the later parts of 1967 a small group of local businessmen got together and formed the Upper Makefield Fire Company.  In 1968 that same group of Carpenters, Masons, Excavators, Plumbers, etc.. built the little firehouse on Taylorsville Road after work and on weekends.  This group of hard working and dedicated original members of UMFC are known as the “Charter Members”.  On Saturday May 24th, 2014 Charter UMFC Member Morris Creighton celebrated his 100th Birthday.  Life Member & Current Chief Tim Brewer and Life Member & Firefighter Robert Kay Sr had the honor of bringing Engine 71 to his birthday party.  Mr. Creighton (a man of few words) was very happy to see the fire truck at his party.  He stated it brought back a lot of very good memories.
